The Brunei Economy Roundtable (BER) 2026 convenes senior policymakers, business leaders, and regional stakeholders for a strategic dialogue on Brunei’s economic outlook and priorities in the year ahead. Held as a closed-door, by-invitation-only forum under the Chatham House Rule, the Roundtable provides a trusted space for candid discussion on emerging risks, opportunities, and policy directions shaping Brunei’s economic future.
Hosted by the ASEAN and APEC Business Advisory Councils of Brunei, BER 2026 will focus on strengthening economic resilience, accelerating diversification, and positioning Brunei to capture new growth opportunities amid an evolving regional and global landscape. Key discussion areas include investment competitiveness and FDI, trade expansion and regional integration, sustainability, and practical digital adoption that improves productivity.
The Brunei Economy Roundtable 2026 is the first event under the Brunei Economy Programme 2026, a private-sector-led initiative hosted by the ASEAN and APEC Business Advisory Councils of Brunei. Now in its 5th year, the Brunei Economy Programme connects Brunei’s economy with the wider ASEAN and APEC landscape, ensuring that the Brunei business community remains engaged with global and regional economic developments. Through this initiative, the Roundtable aims to support Brunei’s economic diversification efforts and, through a whole of nation approach, contribute towards achieving Wawasan 2035
