The ASEAN and APEC Business Advisory Councils of Brunei are delighted to present the Brunei Digital Economy Forum 2025. This year’s Forum, held under the theme “Brunei’s Digital Future: Connect, Innovate, Prosper,” focuses on strengthening Brunei’s digital infrastructure and governance frameworks to accelerate national digital transformation.

The Forum builds on the Brunei Digital Economy Master Plan 2025, which aims to transform Brunei into a “Smart Nation” through robust digital infrastructure, improved connectivity, and innovation across sectors such as financial technology, e-commerce, and digital government. Discussions also support the goals of Wawasan 2035, which envisions a “dynamic and sustainable economy” driven by knowledge, technology, and human capital development.

This year’s Forum comes at a pivotal moment for the region. The ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) was substantially concluded in 2025 under Malaysia’s Chairmanship, marking a major step toward deeper regional digital integration. Building on this milestone, the Forum will explore how investments in connectivity, AI infrastructure, and data governance can position Brunei as an active participant in the ASEAN and APEC digital economy and grow our digital trade.

Through insights from DEFA, the Brunei Digital Economy Report, and contributions from leading technology partners, the Forum will identify opportunities for collaboration that connect economies, inspire innovation, and deliver prosperity for Brunei’s business community.
